Wichita parents might have trouble choosing from all the fun events happening in Wichita this weekend, though the ones who have endless energy and plentiful funds could probably take advantage of all the kid events on the calendar.

Read on for a list of this weekend’s best entertainment options for kids and grownups in Wichita.

Return of Disney on Ice

Disney on Ice will make its annual visit to Wichita’s Intrust Bank Arena this weekend, and this time, the stars of the show will be Elsa and Mirabel from the Disney movies “Frozen” and “Encanto.” Showtimes are 7 p.m. Friday; 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday; and 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $27-$118, and families who want to meet Elsa and Mirabel at special pre-show events can also purchase add-on tickets for $61.30 a person. It’s open to people ages 2 and up, who must have already purchased a show ticket. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the pre-show event. Tickets are available at selectaseat.com, by phone at 316-755-7328 or in person at the Select-a-Seat box office inside Intrust Bank Arena.

Overnight at the museum

Kids and their families have the rare opportunity this weekend to spend the night in a museum, namely, Wichita’s Exploration Place, 300 N. McLean. The sleepover will last from 6 p.m. on Friday until 8 a.m. on Saturday. To participate, children must be 5 or older and accompanied overnight by an adult. While there, families can compete in games, watch a movie in the dome theater, and set up camp in the exhibits. Dinner, snacks and breakfast are included in the price of a ticket, which is $48 for members, $55 for nonmembers at exploration.org/event/overnight

Celebrate Pokemon Day

The Advanced Learning Library, at 711 W. Second St., is inviting Pokeman fans to gather and support Pokemon’s 30th anniversary at an event that will run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Those who attend will be able to compete in Pokemon coloring projects, work on Pokemon crafts, try out a trading card game and learn about the library’s Pokemon club. The event will happen in the Allison Dondlinger Children’s Gallery and Reading Theatre and is appropriate for ages 4 to 14. Admission is free.

Talking history

Old Cowtown Museum continues its Winter Lecture Series on Saturday with a talk lead by historical interpreter Elijah Turner. His talk, titled “Bluecoats and Braves,” will cover how the 7th Cavalry and the Plains Indian Wars impacted Kansas. He’ll include tales of the exploits of Custer, Satanta, Sheridan and Roman Nose. The talk begins at 2 p.m. in the museum’s Visitor’s Center, and admission is $3, free for members and volunteers.

ATLiens in ICT

AtLiens, a DJ/producer duo from Atlanta known for its bass-driven EDM music, will be at The Cotillion in Wichita on Saturday for a performance titled “Electronic Frontier.” The performers are known for appearing on stage wearing chrome masks that conceal their identities. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $48.88 and available at thecotillion.com

Country show at Gilley’s

Gilley’s, the new entertainment venue in Park City that includes gaming, a saloon, country dancing and food, also puts on live music every weekend. On Saturday, the venue will feature up-and-coming country artist Ashley Wineland, known for songs like “Tumbleweed” and “Heartbreak Boots.” Her performance will start at 8 p.m., and admission will be $10 at the door.
