Tracker season 3 returns with new episodes on March 1, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
Star Justin Hartley has surprise career news to share, and it involves author James Patterson.
Fans were excited to see Justin among the voices featured in James’ new Audible original audiobook, Trapped.
Tracker season 3 is returning with new episodes … but it looks like the hit drama isn’t the only thing Justin Hartley has in the works.
As the back half of Tracker season 3 is set to premiere on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS, fans are eager to see Justin reprise his role as Colter Shaw for the remainder of the installment. But while the show was on hiatus, Justin seemingly had other projects, like working with none other than famed author James Patterson.
As James revealed in an Instagram post, he’s releasing a new audiobook called Trapped. Justin is one of the voices featured in the new Audible work, along with Castle alum Stana Katic.
“My EXCLUSIVE @Audible Original TRAPPED starring Justin Hartley @justinhartley, is here,” he wrote in the caption on February 19. “It’s tense. Like, REALLY tense. I wrote it and it still gave me chills. Every second matters. Are you brave enough for this?”
When fans learned that Justin was working on other projects outside of Tracker, they were delighted by the prospect.
“With Justin? I’ll listen for sure! 🔥,” one person wrote in the comments. “One of my favorite authors AND one of my favorite actors?! Absolutely give it to me!!” another cheered. “This sounds like this needs to be a tv show,” a different follower added.
This is definitely a twist we didn’t see coming! Trapped follows an FBI crisis negotiator named Theo Requa (played by Justin) who gets thrown into a crisis involving people trying to take control of the Empire State Building in New York City. Along with his former FBI partner, Christine Travers (played by Stana), he must find the coup d’état’s targets and go after what the culprits truly want.
It looks like we’ll have something to help hold us over until Justin appears on our TVs on Tracker once again!
