Avengers: Doomsday has lost the battle for IMAX screens in its opening weekend to Dune: Part Three. Both Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part 3 are set to open in theaters on Dec. 18, 2026, in an event many in the press (and Robert Downey Jr.) are calling “Dunesday.” With two of the biggest movies opening in theaters on the same weekend, this has raised a question about which movie will get the premium IMAX screens.
