The Actors Awards are remembering Hollywood’s late stars.
From Rob Reiner and Gene Hackman to more recent deaths like Catherine O’Hara, Eric Dane and James Van Der Beek, the segment at the awards ceremony, in Los Angeles on March 1, was set to the tune of Paul Young’s “Every Time You Go Away.” Sarah Paulson led the tribute, which also included her friend and “The Other Sister” costar Diane Keaton.
“Actors make up a family of souls bonded by a challenging pursuit, by valuing our creative spirit and often brought close by our mutual support and affection,” the “All’s Fair” actress said. “This year, we have lost some true giants – our teachers, our coworkers, our inspirations and our friends. All of us have been lifted by them.”
She continued: “We are happier, wiser, made just a bit more expansive by their shared spirit, and we must remember how lucky we are to have been changed by them.”
The segment included a photo of Van Der Beek in “Dawson’s Creek,” a clip of Dane from “Grey’s Anatomy” and a series of clips for O’Hara, including scenes from “Home Alone,” “Schitt’s Creek” and “The Studio.” The actress, who died Jan. 30 from a pulmonary embolism at 71, received a posthumous Actor Award, for Female Actor in a Comedy Series, for her role in the Apple TV show, accepted by costar and series creator Seth Rogen.

Other stars remembered during the segment included Val Kilmer, Robert Redford, Michelle Trachtenberg, Diane Ladd, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Michael Madsen, James Ransone and George Wendt. Robert Carradine, who died Feb. 23, was also included in the tribute.
The award show, previously known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards, did however miss a few stars – including wrestler and “Rocky III” star Hulk Hogan, who died in July, and “Sopranos” actor Jerry Adler, who died in August.
