The name change wasn’t the only thing new about this year’s Actor Awards presented by SAG-AFTRA (formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards). Upon arrival at the Shrine Auditorium in Downtown Los Angeles, what was once a straight walk inside to everyone’s seats was cut short by a new pre-reception room catered by Chef Evan Funke of LA hotspots Mother Wolf and Funke.
Tasty, and it certainly did a better job of bringing everyone together. In the past, the pre-show drinks were right by the entrance to show floor, and the section where all the nominees gathered also included a velvet rope and security guard in front of it. The only time say, the “Wicked” cast, was accessible is when they stepped out to grab a drink at the bar or go to the bathroom. Not exactly glam.
