Check out the best new music from Aotearoa acts released between February 23rd-March 1st below!

MACEY – “Clementine”

Like several previous releases, MACEY’s new single was inspired by his time spent writing in London, namely the frantic, anonymous energy of the city’s underground transit. “Clementine” follows 2025 singles “Seaside Wishes” and “Mona Lisa Money”.

Princess Chelsea – Live at Studio Two

In November 2022, during her album tour for Everything Is Going to Be Alright, Princess Chelsea and her band The Dream Warriors recorded 10 songs at Abbey Road’s Studio Two, the room made famous by The Beatles and Pink Floyd. The result is Live at Studio Two.

Greta Van Den Brink – “Mr Ego”

The music video for Greta Van Den Brink’s “Mr Ego”, released in early February, is out now.

Zoë Vera – “Dizzying”

The third single off her upcoming EP Live Harder (due out April 24th), Zoë Vera’s “Dizzying” captures the emotional tension between both wanting and fearing love. It is a reflection of the courage it takes to open your heart when faced with the thrill of a new, exciting connection, while feeling paralysed by past relationships and unhealed wounds.

The Veils – “Lungs”

“Lungs” is the first single off the Veils’ forthcoming album Fragile World (due out June 19th). It is a swift follow up to their most recent album Asphodels, released last January, marking a striking shift in tone and energy for the band.

Foley – Like an Actress

Like an Actress, Foley’s new five-track EP, marks a new touchstone for the indie-pop duo, as they have spent the last year working relentlessly on new music while touring their acclaimed second studio album, That’s Life, Baby!. Featuring singles “Cinematic” and “Honey”, the record shines with charisma and personality.

Frau Knotz – “Victory Dance on ZR3 (Amamelia Remix)”

One of the highlights of Frau Knotz’s 2025 EP Digital Plastic Surgery, “Victory Dance on ZR3” has gotten a rework from Amamelia. It is the first of two remixes Knotz has planned over the next few months.

Averie – “Honeycomb”

Produced by Josh Fountain and Nikau Te Huki, Averie’s “Honeycomb” blends layered, intimate vocals with bossa nova and jazz-leaning grooves – sitting somewhere between Sasha Keable, Laufey, and Billie Eilish. The single explores infatuation through a darker, sensual lens and marks the beginning of a broader 2026 release run.

WHO SHOT SCOTT – “Bad Girls”

The first single off WHO SHOT SCOTT’s forthcoming debut album Hairy (due out June 5th), “Bad Girls” is drenched in lush synths, neo-soul-esque basslines and grooving drums. It shows him stepping into a new sonic space while continuing his ongoing exploration of formative teenage experiences.

Prosa – “Damaged Ether (Gang of Four)”

An outtake from Prosa’s Idle State EP sessions, this release is a mashup cover of two songs by Gang of Four – namely “Ether” and “Damaged Goods” from their seminal 1979 album Entertainment!.

Myshaan – My Love

Featuring singles “Missed Your Chance” and “Paint Them With You”, Myshaan’s new EP My Love is a deeply personal project that captures the intensity of attraction and the ache of long-distance. It explores themes of commitment, resilience and the challenges that come with a relationship worth fighting for.

Lace Mine – “Haunt”

Alone with a tent and pack, Lace Mine walked 450km across Europe – and returned with a raw edge awakened. When she stopped hiking, “Haunt” was the first song to emerge, revealing a more volatile side to her voice. Where her debut, “Wolf”, introduced a quiet interior world, “Haunt” steps outward and questions what happens after rupture.

Imani-J – “Something Special”

Imani-J’s “Something Special” is a smooth, self-assured statement of confidence and independence. Built on SunsetDrver’s production of lush R&B chords, afro-percussive rhythms, and amapiano-tinged log drums, the song creates a warm groove for her ethereal vocals to glide between.

Montell2099 – “How I Feel”

Future of Music alum Montell2099 has released a new single “How I Feel”, building on his catalogue of electrifying anthems like last year’s album Duality.

Dadada – “Glass Ceiling”

Dadada, a project from Nick Chrisp (also one half of SACHI), has unveiled a new single “Glass Ceiling”.

Emma Rutherford – “Gracie”

Inspired by her niece, Emma Rutherford’s “Gracie” is a wide metaphor for young people everywhere. It addresses themes of pressure, perfection, and the search for validation, offering reassurance and hope, with a reminder that no one is truly alone.

Niamh Crooks – “Dreaming // Over You”

Together, the paired release of “Dreaming” and “Over You” highlights Niamh Crooks’ versatility, her sound moving effortlessly from dreaming and catchy, to bold and cathartic. The songs blend catching hooks with garage-influenced textures, delivered with her signature vocals.
