The Red Deer Royals Concert and Marching Show Band is celebrating the marching arts in all their forms today — March 4, also known as “March Forth.”
The annual play on words marks a day to recognize marching bands, drumlines and colour guard performers across the country.
Mission statement
According to its website, the Royals’ mission is to facilitate an environment of musicianship, learning, friendship and mentorship for musicians and colour guard members aged 12 to 21 in Central Alberta and surrounding communities. The organization promotes musicianship, leadership, teamwork, community service and pride.
To mark the occasion, the group shared throwback photos from last year’s summer season on Facebook.
More information about the band and its programs is available on the Red Deer Royals website.
