FENTON, Mo.—WOW! Entertainment (WOW!) opened last week in Fenton, Mo., boasting fun attractions for people of all ages and is quickly catching the attention of the St. Louis area.
“The weekend was fantastic,” said Tommy Fernandez, the Director of Operations for WOW! “It kind of slowly but surely got busier. By Saturday afternoon, it was completely packed.”
Fernandez hopes it continues to be packed, especially through April when WOW! will donate a portion of bowling sales to local charities as part of its Grand Opening Month of Giving.
Fresh off the Olympics, WOW!’s curling took center-stage amongst the attractions.
“Curling was outstanding. It was a lot of people all around just watching it and wanting to play. Even if they weren’t part of the game, they wanted to see how things were going.”
The venue quickly became a Fenton-favorite with curling, duckpin bowling, Topgolf suites, electronic virtual reality games, karaoke, chef-made scratch food and mini-golf.
Attractions
Curling
Two large curling platforms give people a chance to test their Olympic prowess but without the chance of slipping and falling on ice. People can slide the curling “stones” from end to end, aiming for the middle circle.
Duckpin bowling
Think regular bowling but with a lighter ball, smaller pins and less than half the distance to roll it. The fast-paced bowling game was in popular demand in its first weekend.
Topgolf swing suites
Enjoy the Topgolf simulators with three on the main level and the fourth in a private suite.
Karaoke
People may reserve one of the four sound-proof karaoke rooms. Each one with lights, seating, a green screen and over 1,600 songs to choose from.
Valo Arena
The Valo Arena is a first-of-its-kind mixed-reality entertainment experience. People roam a grid playing through numerous games like “Groundfall,” a “Floor is Lava” similar game where users compete to collect virtual bags of cash and more.
Soon…Mini Golf
Though it’s not ready yet, the 18-hole minigolf experience will resemble Yellowstone National Park. It’s expected to open in late March or early April.
With many established entertainment options in St. Louis, St. Louis County and other areas to the north, WOW! decided the Fenton area was a prime location.
“We felt that we really needed something out here, where we can really attract those people that are further this way” Fernandez said.
WOW! also features discounts for military, happy hours and lunch specials. With the early success, Fernandez is confident WOW! will not only expand its Fenton location, but may consider additional locations in the St. Louis area and possibly other parts of the state.
