Watch ‘9-1-1: Nashville’ cast react to making Tennessean’s front page

The Tennessean’s Sunday paper showcased the cast of “9-1-1: Nashville,” the third installment of the emergency drama that’s heading to the Music City.

Music City’s newest primetime drama is sticking around.

ABC has renewed “9-1-1: Nashville” for a second season, doubling down on the franchise’s Tennessee-set spinoff that blends high-stakes rescues at local spots.

The renewal comes as the show continues to build momentum with crossovers, celebrity cameos and appearances from familiar Nashville faces. One of the most talked-about moments arrives during the March 5 crossover episode with the original Los Angeles-set “9-1-1.”

The episode also features a surprise cameo from Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell, who relevantly plays a mayor.

Season 1 locations: As ‘9-1-1: Nashville’ returns, here are all spots featured so far.

“This all kind of happened so quickly,” O’Connell said about his appearance. “I didn’t even know that I was going to be the mayor until we got the script, which was just maybe like a day or two ahead of time.”

The mayor is one of several guests to appear on the first season including country star Kane Brown and WKRN meteorologist Danielle Breezy, both playing themselves.

The first season has featured many Nashville staples including Broadway bars, Printer’s Alley, Centennial Park, Union Station Hotel and Marathon Motor Works water tower.

Created by Ryan Murphy, the ABC drama marks the third installment in the “9-1-1” franchise, following the Los Angeles-based original and Texas-set “9-1-1: Lone Star.” The first season has tackled several large-scale disasters including firenadoes and emergency alert system hijackings. They also hung an airstream off the Korean War Veterans Bridge.
