There is also a one-hour “On the Red Carpet at the Oscars” special airing at 4:30 p.m. Sunday on ABC. “E!’s Brunch at the Oscars,” which includes red carpet coverage, starts at 5 p.m. Sunday, and E!’s “Live from the Red Carpet” starts at 7 p.m., just as the show is starting on ABC.

“One Battle After Another” and “Sinners” both have opportunities to have very big nights. As of Monday, online prediction marketplace Kalshi gave “One Battle” a 74% chance at winning Best Picture. Other favorites in top races included “Sinners'” Michael B. Jordan for Best Actor (52%), “Hamnet’s” Jessie Buckley for Best Actress (94%) and “KPop Demon Hunters” for Best Animated Feature (94%).
What was the year’s highest-grossing movie?
Domestically, it was “A Minecraft Movie,” with $424 million. You could also make a case for “Zootopia 2,” which earned $427 million, although some of that money was earned in 2026, so it just depends on what question you’re asking: what movie made the most money in 2025, or what 2025 release had the highest gross?
Worldwide, it was “Ne Zha 2,” with $2.3 billion.

How long will the Oscars telecast be?
That’s a great question! On ABC’s online schedule, the show is blocked off for three hours, 32 minutes. Last year’s telecast was three hours and 50 minutes, while the 2024 telecast was three hours and 23 minutes.
