Do you remember where you were when the news of Donna Kelce’s home renovations broke?
The mother of NFL stars and University of Cincinnati Bearcats legends Jason and Travis Kelce recently found herself, er, rather her home, in the middle of a viral internet meme.
The 73-year-old became the center of a meme after a bizarrely mundane tweet from tabloid site TMZ boasted an exclusive on the Kelce family.
However, the “scoop” had nothing to do with Travis Kelce’s impending decision to rejoin the Kansas City Chiefs or his future wedding to global pop star Taylor Swift. Nor did it have anything to do with Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie Kelce, or even Donna Kelce’s recent stint on Peacock’s reality show, “The Traitors.”
Instead, the breaking news was about … her home renovation.
TMZ reported its team learned Donna Kelce was in the middle of a home renovation. According to official records filed last month, the site said Kelce appears to be redoing her 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 1,434-square-foot condo in Orlando, Florida.
“The documents show Donna’s hired a company to replace 9 windows and 6 doors at the home,” TMZ reported.
It didn’t take long for social media users to agree that TMZ’s March 8 post about Kelce renovating her Florida condo was “earth-shattering” and “historical” news.
Over the past few days, hundreds of memes have flooded the internet, poking fun at the seriousness of the news. Even her eldest son, Jason Kelce, responded to the breaking news.
Neither Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift’s fiancé of less than a year, nor Donna Kelce herself (a fan-favorite on the “Traitors” reality show with Alan Cumming) has commented on the memes.
