Taylor Sheridan’s television universe continues to expand, but The Madison takes a different path from the dramas that made him famous, including Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, 1883, 1923, Tulsa King, and Landman. His latest Paramount+ series, starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, follows a wealthy New York family whose lives change after a tragedy sends them to the valley around Montana’s Madison River.
Pfeiffer leads the show as Stacy Clyburn, the matriarch of the Clyburn family, who relocates to the remote landscape following a personal tragedy. Speaking about the role, Pfeiffer described Stacy as someone trying to hold her family together under unimaginable circumstances. “She is really the anchor of her family and trying to be the moral compass when tragedy ensues,” she said in a February 2026 interview with Town & Country. “They’re this New York socialite family traveling in all of the elite circles, and struggle is not something that they experience often.”
Russell plays Stacy’s husband, Preston, who feels far more at home in Montana than in Manhattan. The actor noted that Sheridan’s newest project stands apart from many of the creator’s previous shows. “It’s a woman’s journey,” Russell told T&C. “We see everything from that point of view.”
The six-episode drama also stars Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox, and Amiah Miller.
