And the award for best dressed at the Oscars, as voted for by USA TODAY readers, goes to … Rose Byrne!
Fans were able to vote for their favorite looks at Sunday’s award show via USA TODAY’s Style Meter, a fashion‑forward extension of USA TODAY’s Meter series, which also includes Movie Meter.
The “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You” star had a leg up on the others in a black strapless gown with three-dimensional metallic florals sprouting across the Dior design and its train.
Byrne, who paired her look with a bold lip and slicked-back hair, was also featured in USA TODAY’s list of best-dressed stars.
USA TODAY’s Style Meter invited culture fans and style enthusiasts to weigh in on red‑carpet and awards‑season looks through an engaging, interactive voting experience.
In second place was Kate Hudson, who dazzled in a plunging Giorgio Armani Privé gown that glistened on the carpet like sea glass. Hudson was nominated for her role in “Song Sung Blue.”
Michael B. Jordan, who won an Oscar for his role in “Sinners,” rounded out the fan fashion favorites in third place with his custom Louis Vuitton ensemble.
In addition to the Style Meter winners, the winner for USA TODAY Movie Meter competition was also announced. “One Battle After Another,” written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, ranked number one. Based on the total number of votes, the film with the highest average rating among the 10 “best picture” nominees was named the winner.
This year marked the second annual Movie Meter competition, which empowers audiences to choose which nominee deserves the “film of the year” designation.
