Fans of Modesto actor Jeremy Renner and his “Mayor of Kingstown” streaming series have a chance to appear in the show.
Renner also slipped a little intrigue about the future of “Kingstown” into videos about a campaign for a walk-on role on its sweepstakes page and on Instagram.
The opportunity offers the walk-on and more perks, with proceeds benefitting the Oscar-nominated actor’s RennerVation Foundation.
Saying in videos that production is getting ready for what’s been announced as the final season of his Paramount+ series, Renner dropped a bit of a tease.
He described it as “the fifth and perhaps final season,” then added, “We’ll see about that.”
According to an online story on Men’s Journal, “It was a small moment, but the implication was clear enough to set social media buzzing. Mayor of Kingstown had previously been understood to be ending with its fifth season, making Renner’s casual hedge the closest thing to a renewal hint the show has offered.”
As for the walk-on role opportunity, according to Alltroo.com, the winner will meet Renner on the set of “Mayor of Kingstown,” have a VIP experience and get a tour of the production, along with flights to Pittsburgh and hotel accommodations for two.
Those who just want to meet Renner and are “camera shy” can simply watch the cast and crew film from behind the scenes.
Entries must be submitted by April 17, with the winner announced May 20. According to the Alltroo page, no donation or payment is necessary to enter or win.
However, there are options to donate with proceeds going to the RennerVation Foundation, which “provides well-grounded and compassionate support to children in foster care and at-risk youth, offering them a safe haven and targeted programs to develop their skills, confidence, and opportunities,” according to the Alltroo page.

Renner plays the lead character in “Kingstown,” Mike McLusky. The series is about a powerful family in a town dependent on the prison system.
The Beyer High School graduate also is known for his longtime role as superhero Hawkeye in the Marvel universe.
He’s been nominated twice for Academy Awards — best lead actor in 2010 for “The Hurt Locker” and best supporting actor in 2011 for “The Town.”
