HAM Territorial Fair

Historic Arkansas Museum, 200 E. Third St., Little Rock, holds its 53rd Territorial Fair, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday on the grounds of the museum and its 1850s farmstead.

The museum is partnering with the Quapaw Nation for the event. Programming will highlight the Indigenous people and groups that emigrated to Arkansas. Planned activities include drying, pounding and cooking corn; dice games; foot races; and “cultural make-and-take activities,” according to a news release.

There will also be demonstrations at the museum’s print shop, blacksmith shop, cabinet-making shop, millinery and textile spaces. Activities also include making cornhusk dolls, paper folding and spinning natural fibers. The museum will have folks serving the fair’s signature beverage, raspberry lemon shrub.

Flowery festival

Thousands of jonquils will welcome visitors to the 58th Jonquil Festival, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday-Saturday at Historic Washington State Park, 103 Franklin St., Washington (Hempstead County). The festival also features blacksmithing demonstrations by the Four State Iron Munchers at the Blacksmith Shop; a Saturday car and tractor show; craft vendors selling handmade items and gifts; entertainment; and a variety of food. Park staff will offer tours of the park’s historic houses and museums, as well as surrey rides, at the park’s regular price. The park’s William’s Tavern Restaurant will be open for lunch from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Parking is $5 per vehicle. Call (870) 983-2684.

‘Architecture, Rust, Treasures’

“Architecture, Rust, Treasures,” works in pastel, pencil, ink and acrylic by mother and daughter Caprise Cooper and Evelyn Laurence, go on display with a Third Friday Art Walk reception, 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Argenta Public Library, 420 Main St., North Little Rock.

The exhibition, up through April 10, “celebrates the beauty of overlooked places, weathered objects and natural landscapes,” according to a news release. The exhibition also features work by 7-year-old Bearrett Laurence, representing a third generation of artists in the Cooper family.

‘Arkansas in Song’

“Arkansas in Song: A Place, its People, and Aspects of Musical Identity,” exploring how music has affected the evolution of the Arkansas Delta and how it continues to shape our communities, according to a news release, opens with a 5-7 p.m. reception with entertainment and refreshments, Friday in the central gallery of the visitor center of the Delta Cultural Center, 141 Cherry St., Helena-West Helena. The exhibit is up through Nov. 20. Admission to the reception and the gallery is free. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Call (870) 338-4350.

OBU competition concert

The School of Performing Arts at Ouachita Baptist University hosts the David Glaze Music Competition, 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the McBeth Recital Hall, Mabee Fine Arts building at OBU, 410 Ouachita St., Arkadelphia. Sponsored by Ouachita alumnus David Glaze, artistic director of the River City Men’s Chorus, the concert will feature performances by five OBU student musicians competing for cash awards: Ian Dwyer, junior saxophonist from Roanoke, Texas; Owen Dodd, senior percussionist/pianist from Queen City, Texas; Kate Kelley, junior vocalist from Siloam Springs; Aaron Reed, senior pianist from North Little Rock; and Madisyn Sallas, junior vocalist from Little Rock. ‘Tristan and Isolde’

The Met: Live in HD “cinecasts” the Metropolitan Opera’s new production of Richard Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” to big screens, including the Movie Tavern in Little Rock and the Razorback Cinema in Fayetteville, 11 a.m. Saturday. Soprano Lise Davidsen sings the role of Isolde, with tenor Michael Spyres as Tristan, mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Gubanova as Brangäne, bass-baritone Tomasz Konieczny as Kurwenal and bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green as King Marke. ‘Rasslin’ at the Library’

The North Little Rock Public Library System has “booked” Natural State Rasslin’ for “Rasslin’ at the Library,” 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday in the Lecture Hall of the William F. Laman Public Library, 2801 Orange St. in North Little Rock. The all-ages event will feature “a wild lineup, big personalities and match stipulations guaranteed to have the whole building shaking,” according to a news release. Doors open at 6:15; seating is limited. Admission is free but the library will accept donations, and donations for concessions will also go toward library programs. ‘Spring Break for Good’

Park Plaza, 6000 W. Markham St. at University Avenue, Little Rock, is partnering with Celebrity Attractions and the Museum of Discovery on a week of themed events for “Spring Break for Good,” linked to the touring production of “Wicked,” onstage April 8-19 at Little Rock’s Robinson Center Performance Hall.

The lineup:

◼️ Popular & Powerful: Family Fun Day, 1-3 p.m., Sunday, featuring a Glinda-inspired bubble photo opportunity, interactive activities with the Museum of Discovery and free face painting. The first 100 families through the mall doors will receive free swag bags with material from Park Plaza retailers (first-come, first-serve while supplies last).

◼️ For Good: Gown Give Back, 1-4 p.m. Sunday-March 28. Purple Chameleon Boutique will be collecting gently used prom and wedding dresses throughout the week. “Deserving students and brides in need” can register to receive a dress along with “a magical fitting experience,” according to a news release.

◼️ Wonderful Works: Community Impact Day, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. March 28, focused “on giving back and sustainability,” alongside community partners Goodwill (collecting clothing and household items), eSCO Processing and Recycling (collecting electronics for recycling) and Museum of Discovery (recycling activities and bubble crafts for children).

◼️ Wicked Adult Night at Mr Brews Taphouse, 6-7 p.m., March 30, in partnership with the Museum of Discovery, for those 21 and older, including drink specials, adult STEM activities and “‘Wicked’-inspired vibes and themed experiences. Guests are encouraged to attend in their best ‘Wicked’ attire.”
