Marcos Manca, a Brazilian content creator, died on March 15 in a late-night car accident in Toledo, Brazil. He was 23.

Manca’s family confirmed the death of the influencer in a post to his account’s Instagram Stories on March 18, thanking his followers for their “support” as they continued to grieve.

“What comforts us is knowing the legacy he left,” penned the family. “Marcos was a wonderful person not only to us, but for everyone around us. We will leave his profile open so we can remember how enlightened he was and how he left a beautiful story.”

According to reports by local outlets Toledo News and Gazeta de Toledo, the content creator was driving in the passenger seat of a car when the driver — who was the only other person inside the vehicle — lost control and collided with a lamppost.

After paramedics and firefighters arrived at the scene, Marcos was quickly pronounced dead. The car’s driver, a 24-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital, where he was stabilized as he awaited a bed in the intensive care unit, per Gazeta de Toledo.

Manca, originally from São Paulo, maintained a following of over 58,000 on Instagram, where he was known for sharing lifestyle content and comedic graphics. According to Toledo News, the internet personality shared a video during the day on March 15, hours before his death, remarking that he was enjoying his time in Toledo and was making new friends.

On March 18 and 19, friends of the late content creator posted tributes to Manca, which were then reposted to his own Instagram Stories.

“I miss our crazy moments, your easy smile, your laughter that always managed to brighten any moment. I miss your jokes, our endless conversations, your phone calls, and all the incredible times we shared together,” wrote friend Bia Almeida in a post. “You’ve always been so much more than a friend to me, you were someone who protected me, supported me, and stood by my side.”

In the comments of some of Manca’s final posts, fans wrote in messages in memory of the late creator.

“Go in peace my friend,” penned one. “You will be missed ❤️”
