Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor appears to still be using his HRH title despite being stripped of it amid the Jeffrey Epstein scandal last year. The former Duke of York‘s royal stylings could be seen on removal boxes arriving at his new home, five-bedroom Marsh Farm in Norfolk, on Friday. The boxes were clearly labelled “HRH office”, “HRH sitting room” and “HRH meeting room”, suggesting the King‘s younger brother is clinging to the honorific behind closed doors.
Removals firm Gander & White transported Andrew’s possessions from nearby Wood Farm on Friday morning, as renovations at the Sandringham Estate property conclude for an Easter move-in date. Among the haul were books, antiques and clothes belonging to the disgraced ex-prince, according to reports, including a copy of My Life on Mars by Colin Pillinger, recounting the failed Beagle 2 mission.
Security fencing, CCTV and Sky TV have all been installed at Marsh Farm ahead of Andrew’s arrival, alongside redecorating work to upgrade the former tenant farmer’s home into his new, secluded residence.
He was sensationally arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office on his birthday last month, following allegations that he shared sensitive information with the financier during his time as UK trade envoy.
Andrew has not been seen in public since a photographer caught him being driven away from a Norfolk police station after 11 hours in custody on February 19.
On Wednesday, the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Sir Mark Rowley, said police forces are pressing American authorities to release the unredacted files relating to Andrew, as they are reviewing a “whole range of suggested sexual allegations” to determine whether any “merit a criminal investigation”.
The Met chief said police in the UK “need the unredacted evidence” and “original copy” to pursue investigations here.
He added that police are reviewing documents relating to the former prince’s time as a trade envoy, adding that any sexual allegations, such as those made by the late Virginia Giuffre, will also be investigated if there is evidence.
Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing.
