In case you missed it – and if you did, you’ve been living under a rock – Poison The Well have made their comeback after not making music for 16 years with their brand new record, Peace In Place, released via SharpTone Records.
Vocalist Jeffrey Moriera says that “Weeping Tones” addresses the “quiet loss of control that comes from feeling like you can’t fully be yourself anymore. When you have to shrink who you are just to avoid judgment or conflict, it starts to feel like something is being taken from you. That’s what “Weeping Tones” is about.”
The video mirrors the new track’s sentiment, with Moriera detailing that the “video reflects that struggle, but it also holds onto something stronger – the one thing no one can take from you: your ability to give your love and energy to the people who matter most. No matter how heavy the world gets, no matter how much it tries to pull you apart, you can always choose to keep walking until you reach what matters most – hold it close, and never let go.”
Considered to be one of the pioneers of modern metal and post-hardcore, Poison The Well‘s debut record, The Opposite Of December… A Season Of Separation, earned them spots on a variety of ‘best metalcore records’ from BrooklynVegan, Kerrang!, Loudwire, Revolver, and Stereogum, with their 2003 record You Come Before You being added to Metal Hammer and Rock Sound‘s variations of their ‘best ever‘ lists. With 100 million streams under the band’s belt, Peace In Place is bound to make some waves.
