Kata Hay, a country music singer who gained fame as a contestant on “The Voice,” was arrested in Tennessee back in December and charged with vehicular homicide.
Hay, whose real name is Kata Huddleston, was taken into custody after the Goodlettsville Police Department put out a BOLO for her.
She was extradited back to Nashville on Jan. 11, and that was the last real update in her case.
The Goodlettsville Police Department’s BOLO in December said the singer, who is now 39, had “outstanding warrants for vehicular homicide in connection with a motor vehicle crash on Long Hollow Pike near I-65.”
The police said at the time that they “had reason to believe she may be enroute to Oklahoma and traveling with a white male and quite possibly towing a large camper.”
Goodlettsville Police followed up with a post on Dec. 17 announcing that Huddleston had been arrested in Oklahoma and was being extradited back to Davidson Country.
Whiskey Riff said this is the latest in a string of troubling incidents for Huddleston.
The outlet said she is also facing a DUI charge and a charge of leaving the scene of an accident over $1,500 in damage and open container. Huddleston was also on probation for a 2017 DUI in Nashville, according to Whiskey Riff.
And, according to WKRN, the singer was sentenced to six months in jail after pleading guilty to having sexual contact with a minor.
Huddleston made it onto “The Voice” for its 10th season. She was on Christina Aguilera’s team and made it into the top 20 before being eliminated in the first week of playoffs.
