PELHAM – A new spring fair is coming to Pelham next month, bringing rides, games and family-friendly entertainment back to the city.
The Pelham City Council approved an agreement on Thursday, March 19 with Kissel Entertainment to host the Alabama Fair & Fiesta from April 9–19 at the former Oak Mountain Amphitheatre site.
City leaders said the event marks the return of a fair to Pelham, though it is not a revival of the former Oak Mountain State Fair as redevelopment plans for the property continue.
Under the agreement, Kissel Entertainment will oversee all aspects of the event, including rides, concessions, security and daily operations. The city will lease the property and provide limited infrastructure support, and Pelham will receive a flat $75,000 fee from ride operations.
Kissel Entertainment, a Clanton-based company, has spent decades producing traveling fairs and events across Alabama. The Alabama Fair & Fiesta is being promoted as one of the company’s most immersive experiences to date.
Organizers say the fair will feature more than 100 attractions and activities, including rides, games and traditional fair food. Offerings will range from classic attractions such as a merry-go-round to a 33-meter observation wheel.
