When I think of the quintessential Jennifer Lopez uniform, I think big hoop earrings, a sultry hourglass dress or bell-bottom jeans, sky-high platform heels, and a luxurious Hermès Birkin. But as it tuns out, the queen of glitz, glam, and maximalism can do easy minimalism just as well.
Yesterday, Lopez slipped into a chic and breezy all-black ensemble to grab lunch with her child Emme at the Maybourne Beverly Hills in Los Angeles. The monochrome look was composed of a silky scoop-neck blouse and a high-waisted pencil skirt, which the top was tucked into.
For shoes, the “Save Me Tonight” singer went a little more quiet and down to earth than usual, opting for a pair of black pumps with sheer mesh panels. Even her jewelry was demure: dangly earrings, a single-diamond pendant necklace, and some gold bracelets and rings.
But it wouldn’t be a minimalist J.Lo look without some bold, luxe pieces. The superstars shaded her eyes with oversize square sunglasses in an inky black, and carried a little black Lady Dior bag with black hardware.

Lopez’s subtle off-duty look comes as she has been taking the stage in glittery, metallic showgirl looks for her Up All Night residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Her show kicked off around the holidays late last year and will conclude at the end of this month. “When the show ends but the music keeps going,” Lopez captioned her latest Instagram post.
