Actress Kristen Bellis fiercely private when it comes to her kids. And what parents could blame her? While she signed up for the celebrity life, her daughters didn’t.
In a 2020 interview with Romper, the actress explained her privacy policy, “My feeling is that I chose a career in the public eye. I chose to be quoted, I chose to have my picture taken. I don’t know them yet. I don’t know if they will want that. So I really don’t have the right to choose for them.” The superstar mommy also championed the “No Kids Policy,” a campaign to stop aggressive paparazzi who harass the children of celebrities.
The Nobody Wants This star usually keeps her kiddos out of the spotlight. But in a rare Instagram shout-out, Bell shares a peek into her family’s life. The mommy of two recently posted a cute carousel filled with pics and videos in celebration of her daughter, Lincoln Bell Shepard’s (with hubby, actor Dax Shepard) 13th birthday!
Of course, Bell made sure to keep as much private as possible. Instead of revealing her daughters’ faces (you can also see Shepard and Bell’s younger daughter, 11-year-old Delta, in the post), she only included shots of their backs and a few photos with their faces covered by hearts.
Along with the montage of adorable images, Bell wrote, “13 years ago today we had our first baby girl! Getting to know her wit, compassion, and sense of adventure has brought us a kind of joy we didn’t have a word for before we met her.” She continued, “She reminds us every day that family is literally the best of it—the real stuff. And also to never underestimate how good it feels to hold someone’s hand.”
Bell also opened up about parenting and what it means for her as a mother, “Parenting is, for me, both the hardest and best thing I’ve ever done. Thank you to all the role models we have had for our girls (I’m looking at you Mrs. Browne!!!) nd to the village who taught us how to be parents. Getting to love this kid is the greatest job on earth.”
Famous friends and fans also wished the newly turned teen well wishes and applauded Bell’s words. Reese Witherspoon added, “Beautifully said,” and one commenter posted, “I’m going to say that your girls really hit the jackpot with Dax and yourself…I truly believe your kids are going to be amazing…Happy birthday your amazing girl! I say this as a mom and now grandma.” And we agree!
