Prince William Has Made an Exception for This Royal — Source

Remarks about Prince William’s relationship with Princess Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, are under the spotlight. Despite having a reputation for not usually warming up to those who marry into the royal family, sources claim that William has made more room for Mozzi than he did for some of Beatrice’s past partners. Now, the two men reportedly get along at royal events.

An insider spoke to the Daily Mail that Prince William and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, claiming, “I’m not saying they are the best of buddies and always chatting to each other, but they do get on reasonably well.” 

They linked that to William’s long bond with his cousins. In that, the insider noted, “William has always been fond of his cousins and they would all play together with he and his brother joking ‘Oh look, here comes Queen Bea’ when they would see each other and because she was high up the line of succession back in the day.” Hence, “that affection has stretched to their husbands as well.”

Moreover, the source said, “William and Edo also have a shared passion with football,” adding that William supports Aston Villa while Edo supports Arsenal, and that the season has included “a fair amount of ribbing.”

Besides, the insider pointed out that this bond might have to do with Prince Harry’s absence. As such, they claimed, “William is glad of the male company because his brother Harry is obviously off the scene and now in California, and they always chat whenever they are royal gatherings.” 

Notably, Prince William did not click well with Beatrice’s ex, Dave Clark. So, he does not automatically gel well with everyone around Beatrice — but sources claimed that he has treated Edo differently, which is reportedly quite rare in itself in a family where personal relationships often come with rules and regulations.
