Laura Dern no longer has to keep this big, little secret.
The Oscar winner is set to star in a new limited series about the investigation into late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, E! News has learned.
Based on the book Perversion of Justice: The Jeffrey Epstein Story by Miami Herald journalist Julie K. Brown, the show will follow Brown’s journey uncovering the truths about Epstein and his sex abuse crimes in 2017 and 2018.
Dern, 59, will be playing Brown in the Sony Pictures TV project, which marks the first scripted series to be centered on the Epstein case.
“This timely event series, based on Julie K. Brown’s New York Times bestselling book about Jeffrey Epstein, is an explosive account of an investigative reporter exposing the secret plea deal between Epstein and federal prosecutors,” a synopsis for the show reads. “Drawing from Brown’s experience as a groundbreaking reporter for the Miami Herald, the book and the limited series follow her relentless years-long investigation that identified 80 victims, persuaded key survivors to go on the record, and led to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell‘s arrests.”
