The reimagining of the record in a classical context was released last year, turning her poignant body of music into something deeper and operatic. The album, which tackles themes of racism, oppression and social injustices, will also be juxtaposed with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 when it’s performed at the Komische Oper, bringing the profound work into a whole new context of sound.

Best known for the band’s enigmatic singer Danny Nedelko being referenced in the IDLES song with the same name, Heavy Lungs is stepping into the spotlight in their own right and will be performing songs from their recently released, highly acclaimed album Caviar. Idiosyncratic, uncompromising, and very, very loud, this is a gig for fans of Metz, JOHN, and IDLES. It promises to be a juggernaut of cathartic, chaotic, frenzied rock ‘n’ roll intensity. Remember to bring earplugs.

Kim Gordon

Since Sonic Youth disbanded, Kim Gordon has gone on to become one of the scene’s most radically bombastic and genre-defying artists. Her new music glides between the sonic styles of experimental electronica, noise rock and even trap, all wrapped around her trademark raspy, deep vocals. Always on the cusp of daring new sounds, Gordon will be presenting songs from her new record PLAY ME, a record filled with tactile, physical motifs; krautrock influences and emotive noise rock. Sonic Youth may be gone, but Kim Gordon is still kicking and screaming, challenging the norm and creating a smorgasbord of new noise along the way.
