Kylie Jenner just offered an unfiltered look inside her life in a rare podcast interview. The beauty founder and personality sat down for the premiere episode of Big Bro With Kid Cudi, a new series hosted by the rapper.
“I don’t really do podcasts, so this is a really rare linkup,” Jenner told Kid Cudi. “2026, this last year really, is all about doing things outside of my comfort zone just to make life a little more exciting.”
During the interview, Jenner spoke about expanding her creative pursuits, including her recent acting debut in The Moment. “I think it was a childhood dream of mine…I had the best time, I felt like I was in safe hands,” she said. “I loved it and I would totally do more.”
She added that she has also been experimenting with music again: “I have been back in the studio, just to try a few things and find my sound. Everything was kind of dark and slow. Maybe it’s because I feel like I’m not comfortable singing at a high [octave].”
However, much of the conversation between Jenner and Kid Cudi focused on how Jenner’s relationship with fame has changed over the years. “I don’t know if there’s a perfect recipe to [handling fame],” she said. “I’m really proud of myself; I think I’ve done a really good job.”
She reflected on starting to film Keeping Up With the Kardashians as a child and how her perspective on the famous reality series has shifted since she became a parent. (Jenner is the mother of two children, Stormi and Aire.) “We started the show when I was 9 years old,” she told Kid Cudi. “I look at my daughter and she’s 8, and I’m like, oh my God. ‘In a year you’ll be the age I was when I was so exposed to all of that.’ Although it was a different time then; there was no Instagram.”
Jenner continued, “I think just protecting the things that I feel need protection…my relationships. I just try to protect myself, and I think I have really thick skin, which is much needed. I kind of know, if there’s a bad story or something, it will come and go.”
Her focus now, she said, is staying grounded. “I have my family; I have my kids that I go home to that love me so much and have no idea what’s going on in this world,” she said. “They definitely keep me grounded.”
That perspective has also shaped how she thinks about her children growing up online. “When Stormi turns 15, I don’t know how I’m going to handle it,” Jenner said. “We don’t know how [fame] is going to affect them and it’s really scary.”
She also described the realities of daily life as a mother. “It’s definitely a lot,” she explained. “I wake up at, like, 7 A.M. If I don’t wake myself up, they’re waking me up. But I also like to be up 20 minutes before them, 15 minutes before them. I want to have my coffee, get a little dressed. Coffee drinkers know.”
She added, “Motherhood has definitely changed me for the better…That love, and rediscovering wonder through their eyes, has been amazing. I was young when I had my first baby, so I feel like I was just entering adulthood. And I never really left the excitement of being a child. It all happened so fast.”
She recalled explaining the family’s reality TV origins to Stormi, and later showing her daughter an episode of the series. “She asked me the other day, ‘Why are we famous?’” Jenner said. “‘Why is our whole family famous?’…I sat her down and I’m like, ‘We started a television show when I was a year older than you, and that’s why we’re all in this together.’ She was like, ‘Can I watch it?’ And I’m like, ‘Sure.’”
Watching the show together had an unexpected impact, Jenner said. “I was so emotional afterwards,” she told Kid Cudi. “I don’t know what hit me, but I was like weeping in my bed…Just feeling so grateful for all that we’ve built, but also mourning that closeness when we were all living under the same roof. It was very emotional. I didn’t know it was going to hit me like that.”
Jenner also reflected on launching Kylie Cosmetics at a young age. “It came from 15-year-old me,” she said. “I was obsessed with makeup…Then I realized my followers started to become obsessed with what color lipstick I was wearing. I really wanted to do this.” She added that she funded the company herself and maintained full ownership from the start. “I put up all of my own money that I made from the show, and I owned 100 percent of my own company, and I just went for it.”
When it came to marketing, Jenner said her approach was unconventional at the time. “I was like, ‘No, I’m just going to post it on Instagram.’ And that wasn’t even a thing—like posting to promote your own brand on Instagram. I was just like, ‘This is where my fans are, and this is what I’m going to do.’”
During the Big Bro interview, Jenner also briefly spoke about her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, when asked to name a favorite film from his body of work. “That’s hard for me because I really love them all,” she said. “Call Me By Your Name is pretty perfect. And I really love the Dune [films]. I saw Wonka like seven times.”
