After the former prince Andrew was arrested for suspicion of misconduct in public office and both he and Sarah Ferguson were mentioned in the Epstein files, it was obvious that the British royal family would end up putting some distance between themselves and both Andrew and Fergie. However, from the beginning, there were questions about what would happen to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
Would they still be treated as part of the family? Would they attend royal events, like they did Christmas at Sandringham? Or would they be expected to lie low and fade into obscurity like their parents? Well, the Daily Mail is reporting that the King has invited the two to Royal Ascot in what is considered a show of support for his nieces. The two are reportedly in line for an appearance in the official carriage procession and Royal Enclosure in June.

Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, could also make an appearance.
The outlet is also reporting that King Charles is still very fond of his nieces and will allow them to attend royal events in the future. A source close to the King said, All the signs are they’re not being judged on the sins of the parents.”
Neither sister has reportedly visited Andrew in Sandringham.
Speculation about the sisters had been rampant ever since it was announced they would not be participating in the Easter service alongside the rest of the British royal family. The service is the first major royal gathering since Andrew’s arrest, and the latest revelations about Fergie, too. The two have reportedly made “alternative plans for this Easter” with the agreement and understanding of the King.
However, the outlet insists they “will be seen” at future family celebrations.
According to Rob Shuter, the plan to keep the two from the Easter service was engineered by Prince William. “Nothing moves without the King,” one insider told the gossip columnist. “But William made it very clear what he wanted.”
The decision by William was reportedly made in an attempt to protect the monarchy’s public image. “He’s thinking like a CEO,” the source explained. “Who’s on the stage matters. Who’s not — matters more.”
And though for now, it seems like King Charles will still welcome his nieces at public events, the future seems uncertain for them. “William controls the future of the royal family,” the insider said. “Him, Catherine, and their three children — that’s the monarchy people show up for.”
And sources are telling Shuter William is not afraid to pull rank. “The message was simple,” the insider said. “If certain people are there, we won’t be.”
That reportedly drew attention. “You can’t have a royal event without William and his family,” the source explained. “If they don’t show, the whole thing collapses.”
Officially, Beatrice and Eugenie made other plans, and the King “agreed and understood” their absence. But Shuter reports that “That agreement didn’t come out of nowhere,” instead, “It was shaped.”
And the decision might signal who holds all the cards. “The crown is still Charles’s,” the insider said. “But the power? That’s shifting fast.”
