It was the first time the Wales family made an Easter appearance in three years, having skipped the past two years in favour of private family time following Prince Catherine’s cancer diagnosis. On Sunday, the Wales children sparked a frenzy as they walked the short distance to the Church and waved to well-wishers.
And according to a lip-reading expert, their father had one phrase of encouragement for them.
According to the Mirror, lip reader Jeremy Freeman said William told Charlotte and Louis: “You look waaaaay happy.”
The two royal siblings were snapped waving to the crowds. Meanwhile, Charlotte and Louis sparked further delight after their sweet encounter with King Charles was captured on camera.
While waiting for King Charles and Queen Camilla to enter St George’s Chapel, the camera caught the adorable moment between the monarch and his grandchildren.
As the King made his way into the Church, he moved his hand towards Louis and Charlotte, who were standing next to each other and softly touched the cheeks of one of them before moving ahead.
Sunday marked one of the biggest gatherings of senior royals since Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest.
Aside from the Waleses, other royals attending today’s traditional service include Princess Anne and Sir Timothy Laurence, Prince Edward and James, the Earl of Wessex, Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling and Savannah, Isla and Harriet’s daughter, Georgina.
The Duchess of Edinburgh was notably absent due to “feeling under the weather”.
