Lady Gaga has canceled her Montreal show as she battles a medical condition.
“Hi everyone. I’m so sorry to share that I’m unable to perform tonight and have to cancel the show,” the “Abracadabra” singer, 40, wrote via her Instagram Story on Monday, April 6. “I’ve been fighting a respiratory infection for the past few days and doing everything I can to rest and recover.”
Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) explained that her illness had “gotten worse,” adding that her doctor “strongly advised” that she not perform amid her condition.
“And to be honest I don’t think I could give you the quality of a performance today that you deserve,” she continued. “I know how deeply disappointing this is. And I truly could not feel worse about letting you down.”
The Grammy winner apologized to her fans “who made plans” to “support” her during Monday’s Montreal show. She added that her previous performances last week were “magical and deeply meaningful” to her, so not being able to take the stage once more is disappointing.
“To everyone who was coming tonight, I’m absolutely heartbroken and so sorry,” she concluded.
Gaga was scheduled to perform at the Centre Bell on Monday evening as the final Montreal show on her Mayhem Ball tour. She previously took the stage on Thursday, April 2, and Friday, April 3.
The pop star is at the tail end of her world tour, which kicked off in Las Vegas last year. Gaga’s next stop is Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she is scheduled to play at the Grand Casino Arena on April 9 and April 10. The tour will wrap up in New York City on April 13 at Madison Square Garden.
When Gaga first announced the Mayhem Ball tour, she confessed that hitting the road wasn’t on her radar until the fans changed her mind.
“I wasn’t planning to tour this year … but the incredible response to the new album inspired me to keep things going,” she wrote via Instagram in March 2025. “It came together super quickly thanks to Arthur Fogel and the amazing team at Live Nation, who planned a global tour in just a few weeks.”
Gaga continued, “We chose arenas this time to give me the opportunity to control the details of the show in a way you simply can’t in stadiums — and honestly, I can’t wait. This show is designed to be the kind of theatrical and electrifying experience that brings MAYHEM to life exactly how I envision it. The MAYHEM Ball Tour is officially coming your way. See you soon, monsters.”
While on the road, Gaga opened up about her new approach to touring this time around.
“I’m not an adrenaline junkie anymore. I used to love that feeling,” she told Rolling Stone in a November 2025 interview profile. “I see all the fans, and I’m in this big dress, and the music is so loud and it’s very dramatic … and for 90 seconds, I have to talk myself out of a panic attack.”
