If you’ve been following New York theatre recently, you would notice lately that many of Hollywood’s biggest stars have been taking to the stage. Last season saw George Clooney and Denzel Washington lighting up a Broadway marquee (with high ticket prices to match). This season promises more of the same.

From Daniel Radcliffe in Every Brilliant Thing to Megan Thee Stallion in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, celebrities are all over new shows and long-runners. Below are five shows, spanning plays and musicals, you can see this spring with A-listers in them.

And click here for a full list of currently running and upcoming shows on Broadway.

Daniel Radcliffe in Every Brilliant Thing

Harry Potter star and Tony winner Daniel Radcliffe is currently delighting audiences in Every Brilliant Thing at Broadway’s Hudson Theatre. In the play by Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe, Radcliffe plays a man who creates a list of things that make life worth living to cheer up his mother after her suicide attempt. And to help him tell this story, Radcliffe enlists the help of audience members around the theatre. So perhaps that is the most brilliant thing of all: a group of strangers coming together to create live theatre. Radcliffe stars in the play until May 24.

Moulin Rouge

Megan Thee Stallion in Moulin Rouge! The Musical

Yes, you read that right. Grammy-winning rapper, and leader of the “Hotties” club, Megan Thee Stallion will be making her Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical March 24–May 17 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. She will play the role of master of ceremonies Zidler, which means yes, you will hear her sing “Chandelier” by Sia. Can you go see Megan Thee Stallion live in a theatre that has an elephant in the corner? Yes you can can can!

Maya Rudolph in Oh, Mary!

The casting team at Oh, Mary! has done it again! Six-time Emmy-winning SNL star Maya Rudolph will be the next skilled comedian to play Mary Todd Lincoln in the hit comedy Oh, Mary!, where she will no doubt chug liquor, throw herself on couches, and sing “She’ll Be Coming Round the Mountain” with aplomb. Rudolph will be on Broadway April 28–June 20.

Side note: She will not be the only former Saturday Night Live cast member on Broadway this season: Ana Gastayer will be in Schmigadoon!, while Rachel Dratch will be in The Rocky Horror Show. In other words, this spring on Broadway is truly a barrel of laughs!

Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle in Proof

And now for something a bit more serious. Golden Globe winner Don Cheadle and The Bear star Ayo Edebiri will co-lead the Broadway revival of Proof, playing father and daughter mathematicians with a complicated relationship. This marks Cheadle’s return to the stage—he originated one of the lead roles in the seminal Topdog/Underdog Off-Broadway. Meanwhile, Proof will allow the comedic Edebiri to truly show off her dramatic muscles.

Also, The Bear is all over Broadway this season. Her co-stars from the restaurant television show, Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, are playing bank robbers in Dog Day Afternoon.

Homepage Titanique

Jim Parsons in Titaníque

Ever since he finished the long-running sitcom The Big Bang Theory in 2019, four-time Emmy winner Jim Parsons has been spending a lot of time onstage. He was last seen in back-to-back dramatic plays on Broadway: Mother Play and Our Town. But if you missed seeing Parsons be funny, you’re in luck because Titanique is a hoot. It is a send-up of the film Titanic, using the songs of Celine Dion, and Parsons will be in drag playing Ruth—the strict mother of Rose. In other words, an uncomplicated good time that ends with a “My Heart Will Go On” singalong.

To see who else is performing on Broadway this spring (including Adrien Brody and Tessa Thompson in The Fear of 13, Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf in Death of a Salesman, and many, many more), click here for a comprehensive list of upcoming Broadway shows.
