For the first time ever, ULTRA New Zealand is coming to Wellington – bringing one of the world’s most iconic electronic dance music festivals to the capital.

The inaugural New Zealand edition will be held exclusively on the Wellington Waterfront on Friday 10 April 2026, transforming the harbour edge into a multi-stage, open-air celebration of international electronic music talent.

The globally recognised Ultra Worldwide brand spans more than 30 countries across six continents and is famed for its large-scale productions, world-class DJs, and immersive festival experiences.

This is a major milestone for Wellington, bringing thousands of visitors into the city and enhancing the capital’s reputation as a premier destination for entertainment and live events.

What to expect

ULTRA New Zealand will feature:

  • Four massive stages, including three world-class international stages and one dedicated to New Zealand drum & bass artists.
  • More than 30 international and local performers, with headliners including The Chainsmokers, DJ Snake, Zedd, Darren Styles, Oliver Heldens, Miss Monique, MaRLo, and Pendulum (DJ Set).
  • A one-day festival experience running from 3pm to midnight around the Wellington Waterfront.

The festival is expected to attract 23,000 attendees, including visitors from across New Zealand and overseas.

It is forecast to provide a significant boost to Wellington’s hospitality, retail, accommodation, and tourism sectors. The multi-year agreement signals long-term investment in Wellington as a home for major international events.

Wellington now joins major cities such as Miami, Tokyo, and Sydney as a host of this internationally renowned festival.
