Atlantic Music Group (AMG) is a big fan of joint ventures at the moment: recent examples include partnerships with independent firms Today Is Vintage, Bu Vision and Limosa Nostra Records.
Now there’s another one for the pot: Fader Label. This is the independent label that emerged from magazine The Fader and its parent firm Cornerstone Agency in 2002, which has put out music from artists including Clairo, Slayyyter and Saul Williams.
The AMG partnership includes a 50/50 joint venture, as well as distribution and support services for Fader Label’s roster and catalogue, and an expansion of its Fader Distribution arm.
“This partnership is important to Atlantic Music Group as we have a shared spirit – identifying and nurturing artists who are intentional in their craft that will continue to shape music in new and exciting ways,” said AMG boss Elliot Grainge.
Fader Label has previous experience of tie-ups with major labels. When it launched Fader Distribution in 2021, that was a partnership with Virgin Music Label & Artist Services (as it was then known) shortly after its launch by UMG.
