Songbird Cola, a new music festival featuring Americana/folk and singer-songwriter acts, is launching in the heart of downtown Columbia May 30-31, festival organizers announced April 8.

Old Crow Medicine Show, a venerated string band that’s been rocking since 1998, and Sam Bush, a mandolin player who helped spearhead the progressive bluegrass movement, will headline Saturday and Sunday nights, respectively.

“Songbird leans into a weekend rooted in songwriting, string bands, and the kind of live music that thrives outdoors,” a press release states. “The lineup blends songs of the biggest names in bluegrass and Americana.”

The festival is presented by the City of Columbia, who reopened Finlay Park in November 2025 after a two-year, $25 million renovation aimed at reactivating the once “crown jewel” of Columbia into a hub for community events.

The event is ticketed, unlike other major festivals set for the park — like the Jazz and Roots Fest scheduled for late-April. Tickets cost between $33 and $303, depending on how many days and VIP access.

The two-day festival features 18 artists, ranging from national stars to local acts. An iteration of Finlay Park’s Free Friday Concerts featuring The Water Kickers — a local folk/rock duo — will kick off the festival weekend on Friday, May 29.
