Metro Detroit native Jamie Ding is now a 20-time “Jeopardy!” champion — and will return Friday, April 10, to seek his 21th straight win.
Ding won his 20th consecutive “Jeopardy!” game on Thursday, April 9, bringing his total winnings to $572,600 with a career total of 649 questions correct and 46 wrong, according to TheJeopardyFan.com.
The Lawrenceville, New Jersey, resident is a 2009 graduate of Grosse Pointe North High School in southeast Michigan’s Grosse Pointe Woods, according to the Grosse Pointe Public School District. His father Yuchuan Ding is a professor of neurosurgery at the Wayne State University School of Medicine, Ding said on a recent “Jeopardy!” episode, WSU shared in a Facebook post.
If Ding continues winning, he could face off against another metro Detroit contestant on April 13 — Waterford Township librarian Catherine Hoffman, the township said this week in a release.
