Here’s what’s happening from Friday, April 10, through Sunday, April 12, in and around Coral Springs:

Friday

‘Marmoris 2’ exhibition grand opening (6 to 9 p.m.)

Check out a curated collection spanning two decades of works from the historic Deering Estate’s Artist-in-Residence program. Entry is free, with light refreshments and drinks available for purchase. Learn more on the Coral Springs Museum of Art events page.

Descendants: The Musical at Coral Springs Center for the Arts (6:30 p.m.)

Next Stop Broadway’s teen theater program is taking the stage once again to tell the stories of the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar and Cruella De Vil after they are sent to attend prep school alongside the children of classic Disney heroes. Wacky Olympics (7 to 9 p.m.)

Join Coral Springs’ Parks and Recreation Department for unconventional competitions and family-friendly fun, featuring teams from local middle schools. This is a free event, with pom-poms, foam fingers and concessions available for purchase. Learn more on the city’s events page.

‘The Goonies’ at Pine Trails Park (8 to 9:45 p.m.)

The neighboring city’s free outdoor movie night returns with a 1980s classic and fresh popcorn. Learn more on the City of Parkland’s events page.

Touch-A-Truck Autism Awareness Month event (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

In honor of Autism Awareness Month, Coral Springs Police and Fire’s annual interactive event is back, featuring vehicles and staff from local police, fire, EMS, and public works departments. ArtVentures Family Fun (2 to 3 p.m.)

This monthly afternoon features a guided tour of the Coral Springs Museum of Art’s latest art exhibitions followed by a variety of hands-on, kid-friendly activities. Registration is required. Learn more via the Coral Springs Museum of Art events page.
