Pooh Shiesty is turning to a familiar legal name as he faces new charges.
High-profile defense attorney Bradford Cohen, known for representing artists like Lil Wayne and Kodak Black, is set to represent the Memphis rapper in his latest kidnapping case, according to newly filed court documents.
Cohen’s involvement isn’t new when it comes to Shiesty. He previously served as the rapper’s attorney in his federal firearms case, which ultimately resulted in a prison sentence before Shiesty’s release in 2025. Cohen’s return signals continuity in legal strategy as Shiesty navigates another serious situation.
While Cohen was taking interviews on behalf of Shiesty as early as last Friday, his official request to be added to the rapper’s legal team was filed on Monday (April 6).
Cohen, a veteran criminal defense lawyer based in Florida, has built a reputation for handling high-profile cases involving rappers and entertainers. His client list spans multiple major names in hip-hop, and he’s frequently been called upon in complex federal matters. He also has close ties to Donald Trump, as a former guest on The Apprentice. Cohen’s clients Lil Wayne and Kodak Black received pardons from the president in early 2021.
