ITV I’m A Celebrity… South Africa star Gemma Collins has spoken out about a huge lie she once told on TV to Piers Morgan.
Gemma has been in the spotlight since her TOWIE debut back in 2011. Since then, she’s been on a range of TV shows, including Dancing on Ice, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, Celebrity Big Brother and The Real Full Monty.
Currently, she’s one of the stars competing for the title of jungle legend in I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, hoping to perform better than she did during her first stint on the original show 12 years ago.
However, the ITV star was once the focus of Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, who grilled her about making an explicit adult tape. Although Gemma confessed during an appearance on Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable that it was all a lie.

Explaining the huge mishap, she said: “Basically, I said in an interview once, thinking it was funny, ‘Yeah, I’ve done a sex tape like Kim K’.
“Didn’t think any more of it, laughed it off. Next thing, I’m not being interviewed by Piers Morgan on Life Stories.”
Gemma explained that Piers mentioned her ‘sex tape’ during the interview to delve deeper into it. However, the reality star decided not to tell the truth and continue with the lie.
She continued: “Now, I’m in deep. Then he goes, ‘Well, at what point does a reality star kind of draw their moral compass, you know, would you sell the sex tape for money?’

“Then I went, thinking it was all a joke, ‘Yeah, I’d set up the call lines to make all the profits from the phone-in, pay-per-view’. You know, the business mind’s going.”
However, her joke took a turn as she explained that Piers then turned to her parents in the audience and asked Gemma how it felt for her mum and dad to be hearing this.
She added: “Anyway, I got myself in a whole hot water!”

Wanting to know more about this supposed tape, Piers asked Gemma who it was with. Keeping up the lie, the reality star decided to give a name.
Cutting in, Mel jokingly asked if it was DIY SOS star Nick Knowles as Gemma replied: “No, I’d like it to be with Nick Knowles. I fancy him. He’s got something about him, ol’ Nick.
“I’m never going to live it down. There is no sex tape, it’s one big godawful lie.”
