He warned that “when something unhealthy becomes normal, we stop questioning it. And nowhere is that more visible than in the digital world”.
Later on Thursday, the Duke told the InterEdge leadership conference that his own experiences had left him feeling “lost, betrayed or completely powerless”.
He discussed the grief he had felt following the death of his mother while living “in a goldfish bowl under constant surveillance”.
During a short Q&A session, the Duke revealed that the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, caused him to realise he no longer wanted to be a member of the Royal family.
“After my mum died, before my 13th birthday, I didn’t want this job. I didn’t want this role – whatever it is, wherever this is headed, I don’t like it, it killed my mum,” he said.
