While Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing and accusations against him, his emails to the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein in the Epstein files have seen his reputation plummet. This resulted in King Charles stripping him of his royal titles and Royal Lodge home last year.
The King and his heir Prince William would reportedly have been concerned about the impact scandals like this could have on the Royal Family, with reports suggesting that William may have felt stressed about the matter.
However, it is believed that any stress he has been feeling has been eased by his wife Princess Catherine, who has been a crucial support to her husband.
As reported by The Mirror, author and royal expert Katie Nicholl said: “Kate’s first concern has always been William, and giving him support.
“That may take the form of allowing him the time and space to deal with things privately, or providing him with a safe space in which to relax and to take his mind off things, maybe over a game with the children or getting outdoors for a long walk in nature.”
While Prince William has refrained from commenting on his uncle’s scandals, he did reveal that he was not feeling “calm” just days after Andrew’s arrest.
When attending the BAFTA award ceremony with Princess Catherine in February, Prince William said he had not yet watched BAFTA Best Picture nominee Hamnet because he “needed to be in a calm mood”.
He said his wife Catherine watched the hugely emotional film and was left in “floods of tears”.
When he was asked if he had seen it, he explained: “I need to be in quite a calm state and I am not at the moment. I will save it.”
