Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were reportedly snubbed by the Irwin family last week during their Australian visit, it has been claimed Down Under. The couple visited Australia last week, with Meghan and Harry carrying out a host of different separate and solo engagements.
Meghan also stepped out at the first day of the Her Best Life podcast retreat on Friday. The 44-year-old was reportedly keen to visit with celebrity conservationist Robert Irwin and his family at Australia Zoo in Queensland – but was said to have been snubbed.
The Irwin family have stepped out for numerous engagements with the royals over the past decade, including King Charles back in 2018.
Robert, who is the son of the late Steve Irwin, also travelled to South Africa to support Prince William‘s Earthshot Prize in 2024 as his role as ambassador for the award.
According to a weekly Australian women’s magazine, while the Irwins have “no ill-will” towards Meghan and Harry, it simply “wasn’t possible” to meet with them during their four-day tour of Australia last week.
Speaking to New Idea magazine, a source said: “Aligning with the Irwins’ worthy causes is something that Meghan and Harry could be on board with.
“They meant no ill-will towards the Sussexes, but at the end of the day they are all staunch monarchists and fiercely loyal to The Firm.”
The source also added that Robert is particularly close to William and didn’t want to upset him by appearing to side with Meghan.
Meghan and Harry have now been reunited with their children, six-year-old Prince Archie and four-year-old Princess Lilibet, in California.
The couple previously visited Australia in 2018, just five months after their wedding in Windsor.
