David Byrne is on a “Road to Nowhere Venues all over Europe, Asia and North America.”

After announcing his ‘Who Is The Sky? Tour’ in June 2025, the former Talking Heads frontman has extended the run a fourth time.

In addition to his shows all over the U.S. and Europe from April through July, the 73-year-old Rock Hall of Famer will also headline a handful of concerts in Singapore, Thailand, Japan, South Korea and North America come August and September.

That includes a pair of gigs in New York. They’re slated to go down at:

Saratoga Performing Arts Center
Saratoga, NY
Thursday, Sept. 17

Forest Hills Stadium
Forest Hills, NY
Saturday, Sept. 19

Prior to sharing his latest batch of dates, Byrne headlined both weekends at the 2026 Coachella Music and Arts Festival. Although he typically performs 21 songs per show, the Dumbarton native kept things tight in Indio, delivering 13-track mini-concerts on April 11 and 18.

Based on our findings at Set List FM, there was a lot of Talking Heads representation (“And She Was,” “Houses In Motion,” “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody),” “Burning Down The House” and “Once in a Lifetime” all made the cut) along with a few tracks from 2025’s “Who Is The Sky?,” which shares a name with the tour.

“With production that balances singing and choreography and is backed by a group of singer-dancers, the shows still feel loose despite demanding a degree of precision,” Consequence wrote in a review.

Tickets officially go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 24 at 10 am local time through Ticketmaster but are available now on trusted secondary market sites like StubHub and Vivid Seats.

We only recommend sites with a 100% buyer guarantee, so you know your transaction is safe and your tickets will arrive on time.

David Byrne new music

On Sept. 5, 2025, Byrne released his ninth solo album “Who Is The Sky?”

And, against all odds, the quirky 73-year-old performer is showing no signs of slowing down creatively or vocally.

From the jaunty, joyous, almost tropical lead single “Everybody Laughs” to the minimalist, impassioned final track “The Truth,” Byrne melds vivid lyrics with genre-bending instrumentals and his haunting yet comforting talk-singing.

Personally, we’re partial to the absurd, bouncy “My Apartment Is My Friend,” delicately arranged, personal “A Door Called No” and salsa-like Hayley Williams duet “What Is The Reason For It?”

There really aren’t any disappointments here, though. Each and every song is exquisitely arranged, appropriately melancholy and ebullient and somehow danceable. In short, it’s a David Byrne album that fits squarely in his unimpeachable canon.

To hear for yourself, you can find “Who Is The Sky” here.

More recently, Byrne unveiled the three-minute single “T Shirt” with Brian Eno. If you haven’t had a chance to listen yet, the slinky song is an excellent companion piece to the record. Here it is. Enjoy!

David Byrne NPR Tiny Desk performance

In December 2025, NPR dropped Byrne’s downright giddy Tiny Desk concert with his 12-piece blue-suited backing band.

The 13 of them rip through four songs — “Everybody Laughs,” “Don’t Be Like That,” “(Nothing But) Flowers” and “Life During Wartime” — in a far too-brief 20 minutes.

It’s lo-fi yet grandiose and a whole burst of joy. We can’t recommend watching enough. Check out the full, exuberant performance below.

Huge artists on tour in 2026

While Byrne is about as singular an artist as there is, there are many fellow gifted superstars from yesteryear with similiar sensibilities who have tours mapped out this year.

Here are just five of our favorites that you won’t want to miss live.

• Sting

• RUSH

• Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band

• Journey

• Howard Jones with Wang Chung, English Beat, Modern English

Who else is out and about these next few months? Take a look at our list of all the biggest classic rockers on tour in 2026 to find the show for you.
