Connecticut crushers 100 Demons have a well-earned rep for being one of history’s heaviest hardcore bands. They come from the same late-’90s scene as Hatebreed, and guitarist Sean Martin has done significant time in both bands. 100 Demons only released two albums, 2000’s Eyes Of The Lord and their 2004 self-titled joint, before going inactive. But those two albums are now considered metalcore landmarks, and 100 Demons have been playing reunion sets at hardcore festivals lately. Now, they’re about to return with their first album in 22 years.

Later this spring, 100 Demons will release their new LP Embrace The Black Light. Greg Thomas of END and Misery Signals produced the LP, and he engineered it with the World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die’s Chris Teti. The brothers Colin and Taylor Young, from bands like Twitching Tongues and God’s Hate, guest on the song “Cold Wind Of The Crossroads.” The two of them are big enough supporters that they had a band called Eyes Of The Lord with ex-100 Demons singer Bruce LePage; their one album came out in 2019. (LePage sang on the Eyes Of The Lord album, with Pete Morcey replacing him on vocals for 100 Demons’ self-titled LP. These days, Morcey remains the frontman of 100 Demons.)

Today, 100 Demons share an absolutely brutal new song that has the delightful title “Meat For The Beast.” It sounds gigantic, with elemental-roar vocals and some serious ’80s-thrash sauce on the riffage. If you want to suddenly become the most ignorant person on your block, just play this one loud. 100 Demons have some shows coming up, too. Below, check out “Meat For The Beast,” the Embrace The Black Light tracklist, and their tour dates.
