An Aussie radio star has been called out for giving Meghan Markle “a hug and a kiss” while meeting her her four-day tour Down Under.
Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli from Nova’s Fitzy, Wippa & Kate show attended an event that focused on digital safety and the wellbeing of teams.
At the evening function, Wippa said Prince Harry and Meghan spoke “so openly” and “intelligently” on the panel.
He was then lucky enough to meet the former royal couple, but the conversation took an awkward turn.
“[Meghan] was so warm and embracing. There was a hug and a kiss goodbye,” Wippa said during his radio show.

“Did you kiss her?” Kate Richie interrupted.
“That’s not protocol, mate,” Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald added, with a confused look on his face.
Wippa added that wasn’t even the worst part of his brush with royalty.
“Here’s the embarrassing part, Fitz. The conversation carried on with Harry. I don’t want to say I said, ‘We should exchange numbers,'” he said.

“But it was more like, ‘We should keep chatting’. And I think I had my phone in my hand because I had been referencing something.
“So it looked like I was saying ‘Hey, what’s your number?'”
Wippa explained that Harry then signalled to his personal assistant to come over so the conversation could continue.
“I’ve emailed the contact that he gave me… still quiet at this moment,” Wippa said, and the trio laughed it off.
“So yeah, it went really well. I’m just glad that I didn’t overstep the mark.”

The event where Wippa met Prince Harry and Meghan was one of several organised for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during their Aussie tour.
They attended engagements in Sydney, Canberra, and Melbourne that touched on mental health, veterans, the Invictus Games, and sport.
The couple kicked things off with a visit to a children’s hospital in the Victorian capital and ended the trip watching a rugby match in NSW.
While there were plenty of people who turned out to see Harry and Meghan, a Channel 7 Ray Morgan Poll found 81 per cent of respondents said the couple’s visit did not improve their opinion of them.
Even more people did not believe the visit would help Prince Harry repair his relationship with his father – with 87 per cent responding with “no” and only 13 per cent responding “yes”.
Three-quarters of respondents (75 per cent) did not see a more positive side of Meghan and 69 per cent responded they did not believe the Sussex’s had been treated unfairly by the Royal Family.
Asked if they would welcome Prince Harry or Meghan moving to Australia, 59 per cent responded with “no”.
51 per cent responded by saying they did not think the Queen would have approved of the trip “given Harry stepped back as a working royal”.
