The Royal Family have been urged to take action as Prince Harry has been spotted sitting alongside statesmen at the Security Forum in Kyiv, Ukraine, today. The Duke of Sussex, who quit royal life six years ago, seems to still be influential on the world stage as he took a seat today in a row alongside Andrzej Duda, Poland’s former president, and Kyrylo Budanov, head of the office of the president of Ukraine, at the event.
Harry was also sat beside the former Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk. While Harry was not officially representing Britain or the Royal Family at the event today, many are confused by just how prominent he seemed to be at the event, even giving a speech about the war in Ukraine and the need for other countries to take action.
One person wrote on X: “I’m trying to understand why a non-working Royal who has no influence in US and UK governments is speaking in Ukraine.”
A second person said: “Royal Family – When are you going to put a stop to this?”
Someone else said: “Is he representing the United Kingdom or what is happening?”
Another person said: “At this point The King must step in. Harry is using his position to interfere in politics and that’s just unacceptable and unforgivable.”
Someone else commented: “King needs to address why Harry thinks he can make political comments. This is crossing a line, the people will not be told by Harry what to think politically, and sending messages to Putin – it’s outrageous.”
The prince, who did not bring his wife Meghan Markle with him to Ukraine, said: “I am not here as a politician.
“I am here as a soldier who understands service, as a humanitarian who has seen the human cost of conflict, and as a friend of Ukraine who believes the world must not grow used to this war or numb to its consequences.”
