The I’m A Celebrity contestant spoke out after a 2014 clip resurfaced showing comments made by Jimmy Bullard.
I’m A Celebrity star Jake Quickenden has clarified allegations he was “bullied” by Jimmy Bullard during his stint in the jungle in 2014.
Footballer Jimmy has been caught in a huge row after the All Stars series aired, which saw him in an explosive feud with Adam Thomas.
The pair had furiously clashed over a challenge, in which Jimmy had declared, ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’, essentially quitting, and dragging Adam along with him.
Though the Waterloo Road actor kept his place in the competition and was later crowned King of the Jungle, he lashed out at Jimmy, who later called him “pathetic”.

In confrontational scenes during the live I’m A Celebrity final, the pair further clashed, with Jimmy branding Adam’s behaviour “abusive, aggressive and intimidating”. Jimmy also took aim at ITV’s editing, leaving Ant and Dec to jump in over what they saw and what was aired.
Since the feud erupted, a resurfaced clip from I’m A Celebrity in 2014 has fans questioning whether Jake was “bullied” by Jimmy after a swipe in the jungle.
In the clip, Jimmy took a swipe at Jake, asking him “What the f**k have you done?” Jake appeared to laugh it off, quipping back: “I said that when I came in, didn’t I. I don’t even know why I’m here myself.”
In the clip, Jimmy replied: “The more I get to know you, the more I’m thinking, what the f**k is this p***k doing in here? What’s he offering? Why the f**k are you in here? What are you? What sort of skill have you got?”
Jimmy then added in the bushtucker telegraph: “I just sort of said, why are you here? Do you know what I mean, what do you do, like that? Banter! And he was just buckled!”
After the clip was shared on one fan’s Instagram account, This Morning star Jake took to the comments on Instagram to clarify what had happened.
He said: “I’m gonna be honest here, bullying should be called out but he didn’t bully me here, he was my pal in there, we was having a laugh, he out did me and I didn’t know what to say back lol, he was trying to make me bite, some people may see it different but I can say this, he didn’t bully me, he was actually so sound to me in there and ever since he still messages me to catch-up.”
Jake had earlier addressed the bullying allegations, insisting they were just banter.
Speaking to the Daily Express earlier this month, X Factor star Jake said: “It was mad. I absolutely love Jimmy and he was my best mate in there. All we did all day was take the p**s out of each other.
“I think it actually started because I said that he was built like Mr Burns from The Simpsons so then he started giving me loads of s**t, but obviously in the edit, they didn’t really show me saying anything back.”
Jake continued: “It looked like I was sat there taking it. If you haven’t been in a football changing room and you don’t know how harsh it can get… One of the first things Jimmy said to me was that nothing was off the table.
“He was like, ‘If you want to come for my family, come for my family. I won’t take offence.’ I knew it was a different level – premiere league football, they obviously just take the mick all day.
“So when he was saying, ‘Who are you? You’re not even a celebrity. You’ve only just done X Factor’, I was laughing! I think it’s because he kept such a straight face saying it, people took it the wrong way.”
I’m A Celebrity is available to watch on ITVX.
