‘Oscars’ – Esther Haase photographs Hollywood glamour for Madame Figaro
Fashion photographer Esther Haase created a homage to the world of the Oscars for Madame Figaro. With her distinctive visual language, she translates the atmosphere of the famous award ceremony into a series of expressive fashion images – full of drama, cinematic elegance and Esther’s signature sense of humor.
At the center are strong emotions and iconic gestures: surprised looks in the spotlight, sparkling jewelry and of course the golden Oscar statuette as a symbol of fame and triumph. Esther combines classic Hollywood references with a playful staging. Typical for her work is the mix of theatricality, fashion and narrative lightness. Models Charly Newmann and Matthea Lucchini appear like actresses in the spotlight.
For the Haute Couture and Haute Jewelry looks, Paris-based fashion stylist Barbara Baumel was responsible for the styling. Her career began at the age of 17 at French Vogue, where she worked for more than twelve years as a Fashion Editor, collaborating with photographers such as Guy Bourdin and Helmut Newton. Today, Baumel works internationally on editorials and campaigns. Her style blends Parisian glamour with a cinematic edge – making it a perfect match for Esther Haase’s witty and playful visual language.
With this Madame Figaro editorial, Esther Haase once again demonstrates her talent for visual storytelling: fashion becomes a scene, the set a stage – and each image feels like a film still from a glamorous night in Hollywood.
