Last fall, Shane Lavers shared the Chanel Beads song “The Coward Forgets His Nightmare,” one Stereogum’s 5 Best Songs Of The Week. It turns out the track comes from the highly anticipated followup to the experimental pop artist’s 2024 debut Your Day Will Come, which is being announced today. Amusingly, it is also called Your Day Will Come. The new single “Song For The Messenger” is out now.
“This song is laughing at me,” Lavers says. “Like looking over your shoulder and walking off a cliff. The video is about no fear.”
Like Your Day Will Come (2024), the new LP features Lavers’ live bandmates, violinist Zachary Paul and singer Maya McGrory. It’s also got contributions from Tchad Cousins (Urika’s Bedroom), Anastasia Coope, Bella Litsa, Isaac Eiger (Threshold), and past Chanel Beads tourmate Mari Maurice (More Eaze).
