Ed Sheeran has shown us a “Photograph” of his new hairstyle, and it’s honestly “Perfect.”
The British singer posted a rare Instagram photo dump he called a “Life Update Dumpington” on Wednesday, April 29, sharing a bunch of stuff that’s happened in his life and providing context for every photo in the album in his caption.
The first image in the set was of Sheeran posing with one hand in his newly shorn hair — a.k.a. he now has a buzz cut where his signature shaggy red hair used to be.

“Yes I’ve shaved my hair,” he confirmed. “I wanted to shave it to signify a fresh start. A lot of new beginnings in my life atm. I Iove it, thinking of keeping it this way.”
The new hair was divisive, to say the least.
“we’re so here for buzz cut Ed!!! 🩷,” one fan gushed.
“Egg Sheeran wasn’t on my 2026 bingo card 😭,” quipped someone else.
“Not the beautiful hair 😭😭,” cried a third person.
Another person came up with the amazing joke: “Head Shear an.”
Meanwhile, Sheeran’s fellow musicians also weighed in with Myles Smith commenting, “Need a skin fade bruv” and Jessie Ware telling him, “I like it, Ed!”
In other news, the singer announced more Latin American tour dates, recently hung out with Martin Garrix, is recovering from shingles, is all caught up on Stranger Things, and has been reading books and buying vinyl.
The star’s eighth and final update was as follows: “Restarting the loop tour in a week and a bit, cant wait to get back cracking on that, see you lovely people there.”
The Loop Tour began this past January in New Zealand but has been on pause since March 5. Starting on May 9 and until the end of the month, Sheeran will be playing in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala and Costa Rica.
Then, starting in June, Sheeran will be coming to Glendale, Nashville, Milwaukee, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, San Diego, Santa Clara, Seattle, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Toronto, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Charlotte, Arlington, Hollywood (Fla.) and Tampa, before finishing the tour off back in LatAm in November and December.
These days, Sheeran is balancing his music career with family life. He married his childhood pal Cherry Seaborn in 2019, and the two share daughters Lyra Antarctica, 3, and Jupiter, 1.
