Summer Nights on Barry Island
Barry Island’s Eastern Shelter hosts three days of lively, free festivities for the Glastonbarry Fringe Community Arts Festival 2026, From May 1 to May 3. On Friday, catch the local band Black Jam Circus with special guest performances from 5pm. Saturday features Bro Radio and Mack Events’ annual talent show, Search for a Star, followed by The Treble Makers and the GIG READY Showcase, with rising local stars and a documentary premiere. Sunday brings tribute act Always Arianna in the morning, Neil Diamond Tribute – Rough Diamond, and headline set by Trade Street with more special guests. All the fun takes place over the bank holiday weekend, with times from 5pm Friday and 11am Saturday and Sunday.

The Sun Kings & lemongel
Cardiff’s The Sun Kings bring their full live band show to Barry, blending Latin-inspired grooves, rich song writing, and high-energy performance into a set built for movement and atmosphere. Supporting them are Lemongel, a Cardiff-based alternative duo blending emotionally charged song writing with cinematic soundscapes. Daniel and Duarte create intimate, groove-led music inspired by Bossa Nova, Tame Impala, and D’Angelo, and are currently developing a new project for 2026 following their selection for the BBC Horizons Fund. Suitable for all ages, the music kicks off at 8pm and runs until 10pm. Doors open at 7pm, on Saturday, May 2. Tickets cost £15.

Memo Arts Centre hosts Coldplace for a ‘stadium-sized show in an intimate theatre setting’ on Friday, May 1. Enjoy all the Coldplay classics including ‘Yellow’, ‘Fix You’, and ‘Viva La Vida’, as well as an immersive LED light experience with every audience member receiving their own LED wristband. The spectacle starts at 7pm, Friday, May 1. Tickets are available online.

Head to The Gathering Place in St Athan for an afternoon filled with crafts, local makers, and classic fairground fun, this weekend. There are colourful craft activities for the kids, a local crafters’ market, and refreshments from Little Orchard Café. All are welcome to support neighbourhood makers and enjoy a relaxing day out.
