Skye Newman and Sienna Spiro are the latest acts to be supported as part of BBC Radio 1’s Brit List initiative.
Radio 1 New Music Show presenter Jack Saunders revealed the Brit List addition on air last night (April 30).
The station’s initiative for developing UK artists, which launched in 2017, provides playlisting and other opportunities. Music Week previously revealed the expanded role for the Brit List to provide further support.
Sienna Spiro currently has two Top 75 singles with Top 10 hit Die On This Hill and The Visitor, which peaked at No.11. She has also achieved US Hot 100 chart success.
Skye Newman had a Top 5 hit with Family Matters, as well as Top 20 results with Hairdresser and FU & UF.
Both artists have been extensively playlisted on the network.
Skye Newman said: “Big love to Radio 1 for all their support the last year and for now including me in the Brit list. Grateful always! Big shout out to all the amazing British talent coming through right now, especially my ladies!”
Sienna Spiro added: “So so honoured to be included in BBC Radio 1’s Brit List! They have supported me through my whole journey, and I am just so grateful for everyone there who shows so much love and support to my songs and me. Thank you so much for including me!”
